Author Howard M. Berlin has produced the standard reference on the coins and currency of Palestine under the British Mandate. He opens with a brief history of Palestine through the final partition of Palestine in 1948. This is followed by a history of the Palestine Currency Board and chapters detailing the coins and banknotes released during the British Mandate. The appendices include a concordance of the catalogue numbering systems used for the coins and banknotes of the Mandate, as well as a checklist. The author identifies coins and currency by date and denomination only, he does not create his own numbering system. [hardcover, 152 pages, b&w photos].
